Lord Krishna, Bhagavad Gita 2.47

कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन।

Karmanye vadhikaraste Ma Phaleshu Kadachana|
Ma Karmaphalaheturbhurma Te Sangostvakarmani|| 2.47

You have the right to work only but never to its fruits.
Let not the fruits of action be your motive, nor let your attachment be to inaction.

Mahatma Gandhi (1869-1948), Indian spiritual leader

Experience has taught me that silence is part of the spiritual discipline of a votary of truth. Proneness to exaggerate, to suppress or modify the truth, wittingly or unwittingly, is a natural weakness of man and silence is necessary in order to surmount it.
-- Mahatma Gandhi (1869-1948), Indian spiritual leader

Tolerance for those who cause us pain

By practicing tolerance of those who insult us, we will feel honor and insult as the same. Just as we feel good when someone praises us, we should feel just as good when we are insulted. Stability in honor or insult is the ability to still have love for our aggressor.

-- Sri Chandrasekhara Bharati (1912-1954),

Do not say that you do not have time for God. The busiest of men will have the most leisure, and the laziest will always be short of time, for the former utilizes time and the latter only wastes it. If you really want God, you will find time for Him.
-- Sri Chandrasekhara Bharati (1912-1954), 34th pontiff of the Sarada Peetham

In the midst of a storm, Stand Still

''Sometimes when you are in the middle of many disasters at once (you see no light anymore), it is best to just stand still and repeat the name of God. Pain, sorrow, suffering, loss, separation are all temporary. Do not forget, Do not loose your cool, the grace of God will be your unshakable umbrella in the harshest storms'' - SimpleHinduBhai

-- Adi Shankara, 9th century Indian philosopher and saint

Do not be proud of wealth, people, relations and friends, or youth. All these are snatched by time in the blink of an eye. Giving up this illusory world, know and attain the Supreme.

-- Tirukkural - Earth bears those who dig into her

Namaste, Hari Om,

Just as the Earth bears those who dig into her, it is best to bear with those who despise us.
-- Tirukkural

this is a nice quote. Sometimes in life we want to seek revenge, or feel better through being a weapon of Karma, i.e. being a grim reaper (Mr. Mayhem as some may say i.e. SOA), or delivering non physical retaliation in the form of arguing or holding negative thoughts.

Those who have patience win in the end. When God is driving your car you do not need to worry about the bumps. When we drive, we hear a bump, we worry, we think what will happen with the car.

Keep God in the driver's seat. Let the negative, hurtful and those who despise us flow off your shoulders like a gentle water fall.

Those who hold hate hold stress. Those who hold stress are not happy.

Hari Om, Namaste,
SHB

-- Sri Ramakrishna Paramahansa (1836-1886)

Suppose a thorn has pierced a man's foot. He picks up another thorn to pull out the one hurting him. After extracting the first with the help of the second, he throws both away. One should use the thorn of knowledge to pull out the thorn of ignorance, then throw away both, and realize God directly.
-- Sri Ramakrishna Paramahansa (1836-1886)

I Don't Know - muhjko malum nahi hain

I don't know what I want. I don't know what is right. I don't know what is wrong. I dont know the future. I don't know what to ask for. I don't know what to do.

All I know is that my love for you will help me in my darkest hour.

Muhjko malum nahi hain ki main kya chata hu.

Om vakratunda mahaakaaya
Kotisoorya samaprabha
Nirvighnam kuru Mae daeva
Sarvakaaryaeshu sarvadaa.

-- Sama Veda, Kena Upanishad 1.3

There the eye goes not, nor words, nor mind. We know not. We cannot understand how He can be explained. He is above the known, and He is above the unknown. Thus have we heard from the ancient sages who explained this truth to us.
-- Sama Veda, Kena Upanishad 1.3

Ramana Maharshi,

Mind is consciousness which has put on limitations. You are originally unlimited and perfect. Later you take on limitations and become the mind.

Room to Read Non Profit

Nice article, many of the world's problems can be solved with education.

As my guru says, Knowledge is Power.

--------
Early marriage, illiteracy, school dropout, low wages—these are the futures that statistics would predict for the children in the countries where we work. With the proper educational resources and guidance, however, a child can reshape his or her destiny. Read their stories in our publication, Destination Literacy.
