Many scriptures talk about special days in Hinduism that signify importance on many levels. We should always look at the calendar daily as it contains important dates for fasting, celebrating and observing special rites.
Special days are not just special due to its name or occasion, planets, suns, moons and stars are aligned in a special way for a reason, and on certain days energy can be channeled and transmitted easily, thus praying/fasting or meditating can raise our spirituality greatly.
